Maurice 'Mo' Miller
My interest in the paranormal was fostered at an early age by my mother and grandmother who were very much into ghosts/spirits and the like. Fortunately for me the interest never waned. My artistic background compels me to look at life from a slightly different perspective than most. My desire is to find out what all this is about. Hopefully through my exploration of this phenomena I will be able to share with others what I have and will learn. If I am not at work as a designer/sign guy or investigating I am probably playing golf or working hard to create a masterpiece.
Co-Lead Investigator / Case Manager
I am a retired police sergeant from Southern California. My interest in the paranormal field was peaked over thirty years ago when I experienced something I believe to be paranormal. Because of my background I am an open-minded skeptic that believes there are often reasonable explanations for what some people claim are paranormal experiences. I am an author and co-wrote Haunted Deadwood: A True Wild West Ghost Town. I am currently writing a crime/mystery novel.
I have had paranormal experiences since I was 8 years old and continued to have them throughout my life. I joined a team in Minnesota in 2000 and moved our here to South Dakota in 2008. I joined BHPI in 2011 to continue my research in the paranormal field. I have discovered that the more experience I have also brings me to having more questions. My greatest desire is to continue to have more experiences and to share those with others that may be having the same experience. I’m very fortunate to be involved with such a wonderful team.
I have always been intrigued by the unexplained and the paranormal. I had a paranormal experience when I was 8 and was hooked ever since. I was lucky enough to work with Mo and when I found out he was an investigator, he would occasionally share some of their findings from investigations that totally blew my mind. I joined BHPI in 2014 and have loved helping others understand that they are not “crazy” and hopefully helping them come to terms with whatever may be going on in their home or business.
From a young age I have always been fascinated with the “unknown,” whether it was a variable in an equation, a rock formation, or a paranormal experience. My passion of learning about the unknown led me to a career as a paleontologist/geologist where I can search for answers using the scientific method, past research, and raw data. However, there have been experiences throughout my life that are hard to explain. Using a scientific approach, I hope to find answers to my questions and provide rational explanations for paranormal occurrences. If I am not working in the lab or investigating, I am likely wandering the Hills to find rocks or am at home spending time with my friends and family.
I am a wife and mother of two who has always had an interest in the paranormal. I am also a Psychic Medium who lives and works in the Black Hills. My spiritual abilities were not always apparent to me, however, I believe I have always had them. As an intuitive, healer, and teacher, I bring a different perspective to the investigations. I find comfort in having the knowledge to help clients understand what they may be experiencing if evidence reveals that spirit may be present in their location. Most people have a fear of the noises and unexplained and there really isn’t a reason to fear, it’s just because we don’t understand it. I love helping people seek their own spiritual truth and truly enjoy working with a team of amazing investigators.
